Nilkund receives 9 cm of rain

Bangalore, July 12 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.

Monsoon was weak over North Interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Nilkund 9, Bantwal, Mani, Kollur 8 each.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Sulya, Siddapura, Bhatkal, Gerusoppa Bhagamandala 6 each, Kumta 5, Mangalore, Belthangadi, Puttur, Subramanya, Kadra, Sringeri, Kammardi 4 each, Panambur, Sambre, Shirali, Ankola, Madikeri, Thirthahalli, Koppa, Kottigehara 3 each.

Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all districts of Coastal Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over Belgaum, Haveri, Dharwad districts of North Interior Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka, at a few places over Bagalkote, Gadag, Raichur, Bijapur districts of North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 24 hours.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy. Light rain likely in some areas.
