Narayana Murthy to be non-executive Chairman of Infosys

Bangalore, July 12 (UNI) Infosys Chairman and Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy will be a non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors after his retirement on August 20.

The company, in a release here, said the Board, which met here yesterday, resolved to appoint Mr Murthy as an additional director with effect from August 21.

The Board also resolved that Mr Nandan M Nilekani, currently the Chief Executive Officer, President and Managing Director of the company, be re-designated as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director and that Mr S Gopalakrishnan, currently the Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Managing Director, be promoted and re-designated as the President, Chief Operating Officer and Joint Managing Director. Both the changes would come into effect from August 21, the company said.
