N Srinath finishes second in Dubai Chess meet

Chennai, Jul 12 (UNI) World Under-12 champion N Srinath of Tamil Nadu narrowly missed winning the overall title in the Dubai Junior Chess Championship that concluded today.

He finished second. Srinath however, retained the Under-12 title.

According to a press release here, top seed IM Eltaj Safarli of Azerbaijan won the overall championship with eight points from nine rounds. Srinath scored 7.5 points, winning seven games, losing one and drawing one.

The event in which 146 players participated, included 22 Indians.
