Ministers face Speaker's ire for absenteeism
Kolkata, Jul 12 (UNI) In a rare event ministers faced the ire of West Bengal Speaker Hasim Abdul Halim as he made a stricture against absenteeism in the house today.
During the mention hour the Speaker noticed that no other minister but industry minister Nirupam Sen and fisheries minister Kiranmoy Nanda were present in the house.
Later, when the parliamentary affairs minister entered the house the Speaker warned him that in future he would adjourn the House if less than six ministers were present.
"There is a rule that at least six ministers should be present.
If there is a similar incident in the future I will adjourn the house," he said.
