LDF Govt. not anti-minorities:Veliyam Bhargavan

Kochi, Jul 12 (UNI) CPI Kerala state secretary Veliyam Bhargavan today refuted allegations that the LDF government was against the minority communities.

Speaking at a commemoration meeting on the first death anniversary of former Kerala chief minister and CPI leader P K Vasudevan Nair here, Mr Bhargavan said that the LDF government was being wrongly described as ''anti-minorities'' in view of the Self-Financing Professional Colleges Act 2006, passed by the assembly recently.

''It is actually the LDF which has always stood with the minorities during all crises,'' he added.

He also paid tributes to Mr Vasudevan Nair for his contribution to Kerala society and politics.

State Fisheries Minister S Sarma, Agriculture Minister Mullakara Ratnakaran and Members of Parliament P Ravindran and K E Ismail were also present at the function.
