Khadi Gramudyog official caught accepting bribe
Varanasi, July 12 (UNI) The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Cell of Uttar Pradesh Police today caught a Khadi Gramudyog Adhikari accepting Rs 4,000 bribe in the neighbouring Chandauli district.
Official sources said Lallan Ram, posted as Khadi Gramudyog Adhikari (II) in Chandauli, was caught greasing his palms from a youth, who had applied for a loan of Rs five lakh under the Chief Minister Employment Scheme.
Shiv Kumar Singh (22) had applied for the loan and went to the Khadi Board Office on July seven to appear in an interview for the sanctioning of the loan.
Instead of being interviewed, Shiv was asked to pay Rs 5,000 cash for preliminary clearance of the loan application alongwith a promise for sharing with the official 30 per cent of the loan when sanctioned. On request of the youth, Lallan Ran lowered the amount to Rs 4,000.
A case had been registered under the Anti-Corruption Act.
