India provides assistance for campus library in Nepal
Kathmandu, July 12 (UNI) Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee today inaugurated a campus library in Eastern Nepal.
According to a release, the library named ''Nepal Bharat Maitri Pustakalaya'' has been built with grant assistance of Nepalese Rupees (NRs) 1,12,48,765 by the Indian government at Gaighat, Udayapur.
''The need for a library building at the Triyuga Janata Multiple Campus has long been felt by the local community. The immediate beneficiaries would be more than 1000 students from Udayapur, Khotang and adjoining districts,'' the statement said.
This project is a part of the ongoing implementation of 142 projects by the Indian government in the education, health and infrastructure sectors in 61 districts of Nepal, with an outlay of NRs 1800 crores, the statement added.
India's commitment to strengthening and diversifying bilateral relations with Nepal through economic cooperation was reiterated during Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala's visit to India in june, the statement added further.
