High security alert in stations of Eastern Railway

Kolkata, Jul 12 (UNI) The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have been put on high alert in all important stations of Eastern Railway, specially at Howrah and Sealdah stations, following yesterday's blasts in Mumbai and Srinagar.

Eastern Railway sources said dog squads were being utilised at Howrah and Sealdah and other important stations.

Regular announcements were also being made through the public address system to alert commuters and make them aware of any unclaimed or suspicious objects in the railway premises, the sources said.

The RPF and GRP have also been asked to co-ordinate with the state police and intelligence agencies.
