Haryana industrial policy to generate employment for 10 lakh

Chandigarh, July 12 (UNI) The Haryana government has formulated a long term plan of Rs 200,000 crore for the next ten years under the new Industrial Policy-2005, which would generate employment opportunities for about ten lakh youths in the state, Industries and Industrial Training and Vocational Education Minister Lachhman Dass Arora today said.

Under the policy, the government would estabilish 50 Special Economic Zones (SEZ). Of these, 35 had already been granted approval by the Union government.

He said that the state government had already enacted SEZ Act and also framed Land Acquisition policy to speed up the pace of dustrialisation.

Claiming that the government policies had started yielding good results, the Minister refered to the setting-up of New Industrial Estates and a Industrial Model Township. He also refered to the sanction given to the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Express Highway and setting up of economic hubs around Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Express Highway.

Mr Arora also made a mention of the approval granted to the petro-chemical hub in Panipat and the signing of the MoU with Reliance Industries for setting-up a SEZ.

While emphasising the setting up of the Reliance SEZ, the Minister said it aimed at developing industry in the state by adopting multi-prolonged strategy which included simplication of rules, strengthening institutional mechanism, infrastructure development and providing of financial incentives to the industries in the backward areas.
