Govt. non-committal on FS-level talks
New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) The government today declined a categorical comment on whether the Mumbai bomb explosions would have any impact on Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs) between India and Pakistan or whether the Foreign Secretary-level talks were still on track.
''I do not have any announcement on the dates as yet,'' a spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry said when asked whether the Foreign Secretary-Level talks were still on track.
Asked whether the developments would have any impact on CBMs, the spokesman said ''I think I have given you a detailed enough briefing. Any interpretation is yours.'' To a question on whether these talks were scheduled for July 21, the spokesman reiterated that he did not have any announcement regarding the dates.
According to the schedule of the third round of the Composite Dialogue Process (CDP) between the two countries, Foreign ecretaries' and Foreign Ministers' level review meeting was scheduled to be held in New Delhi on July 20 and 21 respectively.
Plenary Session of the Joint Commission and Foreign Ministers' Review Meeting is scheduled to be held here on July 22.
