FLWL demands family pension
Itanagar, Jul 12 (UNI) The newly constituted Former Legislators Welfare Forum (FLWL) in a meeting held here yesterday has decided to urge the state government to create provision for family pension to the former legislators.
In a nine-point memorandum submitted to Legislative Assembly Speaker Setong Sena, copies of which were submitted to the Governor and Chief Minister, the Forum pleaded that considering the activities being carried out by the former legislators towards nation building and development, the state government should incorporate the provision of family pension for them.
Keeping up the traditional spirit of the welfare and people- friendly government, the former legislators should be allowed to take part in the decision making process at the grassroots level, the Forum said, while demanding enhancement of present ex-MLA pension and one time grant of Rs 15,000.
The other resolutions included, state honour to late legislators, official status for ex-legislators, concession on accommodations in bunglows, circuit houses and government bhawans, land allotment and provision of water and electricity facilities.
