Dhampur Sugar plans 425 cr expansion

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) Dhampur Sugar Mills today announced that it will invest Rs 425 crore in setting up sugar refineries, distilleries and power generation plants.

Under the Phase I, company has approved an investment of Rs 95 crore in setting up a distillary at Asmoli, sugar refinery at Rajpura and a Power co-generation plant at Mansurpur.

Consequent to this increase, the company would become eligible to avail the incentives under UP Incentive Scheme for Sugar Mills for ten years instead of five years as its total investment by March 31, 2007 would exceed from Rs 435 crore to Rs 530 crore, statement here said.

In addition, under the expansion-cum-diversification project (Phase II) company will invest Rs 333 crore in a new plant of 5000 TCD along with power generation and distillery plants in Madhepura district of Bihar.

Moreover, it will increase the power generation capacity at Dhampur and Rajpura.
