Cong wins 43 MPP posts in Chittoor

Chittoor, July 12 (UNI) The Congress has won 43 Mandal Parishad Presidential (MPP) posts in the Chittoor district.

Of the 65 Mandal Parishads here, elections were held in 63. Polls in two mandals were postponed for want of quorum in the district.

Zilla Parishad CEO and Additional District Elections Authority T Veerabhadraiah said, Telegu Desam Party (TDP) bagged 16 MPPs with CPI winning one and independents three.

Elections were peaceful, with no untoward incidents reported.
