CM to reply on July 14 in the Assembly about Corruption charges

Bangalore, July 12 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, alleging that the Congress adopting duel stand, today said that he would reply on the alleged corruption charges in the house on July 14.

''The Government will take appropriate decision at appropriate time about holding inquiry on alleged bribe charges which was used as weapon by the opposition party to stall the proceedings of the on the ongoing session for the last three days.'' He said the allegations that himself (Mr Kumarasway) and Forest Minister Channigappa had collected Rs 150 Crores for allowing Mining in Bellary, were baseless and Congress would not succeed in its attempt to destablise the government.

Talking to newsmen after a joint meeting of Janata Dal (S) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators here tonight, he said that the Coordination Committee, which has been entrusted to decide about the corruption issue, will solve the issue and whoever may be involved, if proved, would be punished.

Replying to a question, he said that '' if they have CD to prove the allegations let them show and prove. I will reply in the House about allegations on Friday after giving opportunity to all to speak about the allegations.'' Mr Kumaraswamy said that the meeting was held since it could not be held before commencement of the Session. The issue of corruption was not discussed in the meeting. The issues discussed included implementation of developmental activities and hurdles faced.

Some legislators expressed about hurdles in implementing housing scheme under Ambedkar Avas Yojana. ''After the conclusion of the Session more attention would be given for developmental activities and all the legislators are unanimous on this issue.'' Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that the meeting was held under cordial atmosphere and every legislator expressed their full support to the Government and this Coalition Government would complete its full term.
