CM reviews implementation of broadband network
Hyderabad, Jul 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today expressed satisfaction of progress of implementation of AP broadband network being set up by AP Aksh Broadband Limited.
At a review meeting, the officials explained the status of implementation of the project, an official release here tonight said.
Seven district headquarters of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda, Guntur, Eluru, Ongole, and Vijayawada had been connected by Optic Fibre Cable (OFC) and equipment installation and testing complete, it said.
In seven more cities -- Nellore, Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur, Warangal, Karimnagar and Tirupati -- the OFC connectivity and equipment installation was completed and testing under progress, it said.
Overall 20,000 km OFC has been laid throughout the state. On pilot basis, Ranga Reddy District was connected up to village-level and equipment installation and testing was under progress, it said adding when completed, the network would connect 22,000 villages, 1,128 mandals and 40,000 offices.
