Chargesheet against Pravin Mahajan to be filed on July 17

Mumbai, July 12 (UNI) The police will file a chargesheet against Pravin Mahajan, who has been accused of murdering his elder brother and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan, on July 17.

Assistant public prosecutor E B Dhamal informed this to the court today while moving an application seeking the extension of Pravin Mahajan's judicial custody. Additional chief metropolitan magistrate B L Waghmare granted the extension of Pravin Mahajan's judicial custody till July 17.

Pravin Mahajan was not produced in person before the court today but the judge heard him through video conferencing facilities.

Pravin Mahajan, lodged in the Arthur Road jail, told the judge that he was unwell and was suffering from fever and cough. The judge directed the jail superintendent to ensure proper medical treatment for Pravin Mahajan.
