Bribery charge: Poojary wants K'taka govt to clear doubts
Mangalore, July 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Janardhan Poojary today demanded that the JD(S)-BJP coalition government in the state clear all doubts in the minds of the people on the bribery charge made against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Addressing a protest meeting organised by the party district unit here to highlight the failures of the state government, he wondered why top BJP leaders like Mr Vajpayee and Mr Advani were maintaining silence over the issue when the charge had been made by a legislator of the BJP, the ruling coalition partner in the state.
It may be recalled that BJP MLC C Janardhan Reddy had recently alleged that Mr Kumaraswamy and Forests Minister C Chennigappa had received a bribe of Rs 150 crore from the mining operators in Bellary district.
Condemning the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai yesterday, Mr Poojary urged the government to bring the guilty to book.
Earlier, braving rains, Congress workers took out a procession to the Deputy Commissioner's Office to register their protest.
