Blasts result of intelligence failure: Thackeray
Mumbai, Jul 12: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has said that the serial bomb blasts here were the result of the failure of Mumbai police and intelligence agencies.
In a statement issued here, which appeared in today's edition of the party mouthpiece 'Saamna', Mr Thackeray who is the editor of the paper, said the dead would not come back to life with appeals of maintaining calm and not to believe in rumours.
''If such stand of the government continues, the people will not sit quietly and throw out the government,'' he said.
Mincing no words in his criticism of the Congress-led governments in Maharashtra and at the Centre, the Sena chief said the dead must be thanking them.
Hitting out at United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad for visiting Mumbai to console the injured, Mr Thackeray said: ''The dead might be feeling better. At least in death, they have somebody to look for support.''
