BJP should be ready to take up challenges: Vajpayee
New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) Condemning the serial blasts in Mumbai and Srinagar, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today said the UPA Government had failed on all fronts and asked the BJP to be prepared to take up challenges as the ''people were expecting a lot from the party in the present scenario''.
Addressing the BJP's central office-bearers meeting, chaired by party president Rajnath Singh this morning, Mr Vajpayee asked the partymen to project the BJP as the only alternative to take up the challenges confronting the country.
He also expressed concern at the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
The meeting adopted a resolution, condemning the serial blasts in Mumbai and Srinagar yesterday, and accusing the UPA government of compromising with the terrorist forces to pursue vote bank politics.
It was decided that the BJP would hold demonstrations in state capitals against terrorism on July 15 and 16 and submit a memorandum with the Governors, expressing concern over the spate of terrorist activities.
