BJP issues showcause notice to party leader

Patna, July 12 (UNI) The BJP today issued showcause notice to senior party leader Kanhayiya Singh for his alleged misbehaviour with State Food Corporation (SFC) manager Jainarayan Shukla.

The BJP leaders were in the limelight for the wrong reasons in quick succession as BJP MLA Avanish Kumar Singh was also served a showcause notice for his (Singh's) act of roughing up State Transport Commissioner Pancham Lal in his official chamber a few days back.

State party spokesperson and MLC Kiran Ghai said Mr Singh, also the general secretary of the Saran unit of the BJP, had been asked to reply to showcause notice within seven days.

She said the party issued the notice taking congnizance of media reports about the ''unseemly'' act of Mr Singh, who also reportedly tore away official documents in the chamber of Mr Shukla after the latter refused to ''dance to the tunes of dictates'' of the BJP leader.

Mr Shukla had filed an FIR agaist the BJP leader with the concerned police station.
