Assembly adopts resolution condoling death of people in blasts
Kolkata, Jul 12 (UNI) The West Bengal assembly today adopted an all party resolution condoling the death of people in serial blasts in Mumbai and Srinagar yesterday.
In a statement Industry Minister Nirupam Sen condemned the incident, while Speaker Hasim Abdul Halim sent a condolence message to his Maharastra counterpart condoling the death of innocent people.
Making a statement in the house, Mr Sen said Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee had talked to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and contacted the Union Home Minister over the need for sounding an alert in the state.
Following the Srinagar incidents in which six tourists from West Bengal were killed in a grenade attack, the Chief Minister talked to the Jammu anbd Kashmir administration and sent tourism minister Manab Mukherjee to the valley to bring home the injured and ensure their treatment.
He said the state government had arranged treatment of the injured West Bengal tourists, who had fallen victims to grenade attack on May 31.
Those wounded in yesterday's incident would also be provided treatment by the state government, he said.
