Arunachal cabinet to felicitate Mithi

Itanagar, Jul 12 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet in its meeting here last night decided to felicitate former Chief Minister and Pondicherry Lt. Governor designate Mukut Mithi.

The felicitation function would be organised here after confirming a convenient date from Mr Mithi. The political personalities including ministers, MLAs, MPs and senior government officers would participate in the function, informed official sources here today.

The cabinet also decided to convey the gratefulness of people of Arunahal Pradesh to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Union Home Ministr Sivrak Patil and AICC President Sonia Gandhi for appointing an Arunachalee to the gubernatorial post.

Meanwhile, congratulations have been pouring in from political organisations and leaders of the state. A team of political leaders including ministers and MLAs irrespective of political affiliation called on Mithi at New Delhi yesterday and congratulated him.

The team included PWD Minister and Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Working President Nabam Tuki, APCC Working President Takan Sanjoy, Forest and Environment Minister N.Tingkhatra, state's NCP unit president Kabak Tacho, Rajya Sabha MP Nabum Rebia, legislator Ngurang Pinch and other senior leaders.

The state unit of BJP also congratulated Mithi on his appointment as the Lt. Governor.
