Amarnath yatra suspended due to landslide

Jammu, July 12 (UNI) The Amarnath Yatra was today suspended from here due to over night landslides which blocked the Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Ramban district.

Sources said there were heavy landslides at two places near Ramban, about 146 km from here, which forced the suspension of the Yatra.

The Border Roads Organisation, which maintains the national highway, has started clearing the national highway.

Meanwhile the numbers of pilgrims who performed 'pooja' and Deb 'darshan' at the Holy Cave of Amarnath reached 2.25 lakh.
