Passengers foil kidnap attempt of girl
Aurangabad, July 12: A 14-year-old girl was rescued from a Mumbai bound train at the city railway station from the clutches of her kidnapper after two alert passengers found the girl, in an unconscious state, travelling with a woman.
The police detained Shamsunnisa Begam, who was escorting the girl in a suspicious manner.
The girl, hailing from Hyderabad, was lured to move to Mumbai by two youths who had promised her a good job there. However, they mixed some intoxicant in her food and after handing over the girl to Shamsunnisa they left.
The passengers, before alighting at Aurangabad, tried to talk to the girl, suspecting foul-play, and were told that she was being forcibly taken to Mumbai. They raised an alarm upon which the railway police detained Shamsunnisa. The two unidentified youths have also been arrested.
The girl was reunited with her parents after being admitted to the government medical college and hospital (GMCH).
