AFSPA,1958 to be screened in Munich Film Festival

Imphal, July 12 (UNI) A film based on Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) would be screened at the Filmfest Muchan 2006 at Munich.

The 77-minute documentary film AF SPA,1958, directed by Haobam Pabankumar would be shown at the International Film Festival to be organised by the International Municher Filmwochen Gmbh at Munich in Germany from July 15 to 22, a release here said.

The film, which got various awards in international festivals, is based on real footage of the uprising in Manipur demanding repeal of AFSPA following the rape and murder of Th Manorama on July 11, 2004.

The AFSPA, 1958, had already won the International Jury Award and International Critics Award in the Mumbai International Film Festival for documentaries, short and animation films this year.
