Two leopards found dead in Yavatmal's Aamdari forest

Nagpur, July 11 (UNI) Two leopards were found dead in Shembalpimpri beat of Aamdari forest in Pusad taluka of Yavatmal district yesterday, according to forest department.

Sources said a farmer, Gautam Kamble, who spotted the dead female leopard and its cub in Aagya Lal valley, reported the matter to the forest protection committee activists.

Later, a team of forest officials visited the spot. They made the 'panchanama' and the carcasses were disposed-off.

Sources said the female leopard was six-year-old and its younger one was about two years of age. This is the first time that the wild annimals found dead in such a circumstance in the area.

The exact cause of the death of the carnivores could not be traced immediately, even as the forest officials ruled out the possibility of they being poisoned.
