TMC general body meeting adjourned

Thane, July 10 (UNI) The general body meeting of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) was adjourned today without transacting any business, while condeming the brutal killing of the two police constables in Bhiwandi on Wednesday and the desecration of the statue of Meenatai Thackery yesterday.

A resolution to this effect was tabled by Madhukar Deshmukh and was seconded by Manohar Gadve both of Shiv Sena. It was supported by all party members in the house.

Tempers ran high and the members of the corporation both from the ruling Shiv Sena-BJP and the opposition strongly condemed the incidents.

They demanded immediate action on those who were responsible for both the incidents and said that this was the handiwork of anti socials.

The members expressed their total sympathy towards the beraved families of the two constables, who were killed in the unpleasent incidences.

If the mob can go to the extent of killing the hapless cops then one can imagine what they would do the comman man, wondered some of the members, who were visibly moved and angery by the Bhiwandi incident.

The House adjourned without transacting any business.
