Tiger menace on the increase in Kodagu
Madikeri (Karnataka), Jul 11: With the tiger menace on the increase in the hilly district of Kodagu, the residents of South Kodagu have appealed to the forest department to either chase away or capture the felines.
Fearing for their life and that of their livestock, the residents have taken up the matter with the Forest department.
In their complaint, they stated that a buffalo, belonging to one Gandhi of Choorikad, and a cow of one Kamalamma, were eaten by a tiger recently. The leftovers were traced in the bushes.
The residents said they were afraid of sending their children to school due to fear of attack by the big cats. They demanded that the administration provide a compensation within 15 days to the two persons who lost their cattle.
