Several killed in serial blasts in Mumbai local trains

Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) Several people were killed and many injured in a series of bomb blasts that ripped through suburban trains in the city this evening.

A UNI correspondent saw at least three bodies lying on the track at Bandra station where a blast took place just after a local train chugged out.

Eyewitnesses reported blasts at Mahim, Bandra, Bhyander, Jogeshwari and Borivali. At least five blasts have been reported and all of them in moving trains.

Train services on the western railways suburban section where all the blasts took place, have been suspended. The area around Bandra and other railway stations where the blasts occured have been cordoned off with deployment of heavy security. The injured were being removed to nearby hospitals.
