Mangalore, July 11 (UNI) Physiotherapist Andrew Leipus today exuded confidence that master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will soon stage a comeback into the Indian cricket team, if his performance at the County Club in England was any indication.

Addressing a press conference here, the former Indian cricket team physiotherapist and consultant to Board of Control for Cricket in India said ''I have not met Sachin recently. But the way he is performing in county, I am sure he will make a comeback into the Indian team very soon. He is a champion,'' he added.

Calling for rescheduling of cricket series to ensure that players got enough rest and required fitness, he said players were now exhausted as they were forced to play several series, both tests and ODIs, without proper time gap. ''The time gap between one series and another is very less due to which the players are deprived of enough rest and physiotherapy.'' He opined that the fitness culture at present found only among senior level players should percolate to players at the grassroots level.

He informed that he was planning to start Sports Physiotherapy, Health and Fitness institutes/clinics across the country.

Asked to name his favourite player, Mr Leipus said ''I like Anil Kumble for his fighting spirit and ability.'' Mr Leipus was here to take part in a two-day workshop on ''The Use of Sports in Treating Musculoskeletal Injuries,'' commencing tomorrow. The workshop was organised by Dr M Y Shetty College of Physiotherapy as part of its continuing professional development programme.
