Donald Rumsfeld arrives in Afghanistan
Kabul, Jul 11: U S Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld today arrived in Afghanistan on an unannounced visit to discuss escalating violence and plans for NATO to take over military operations in the southern part of the country this month.
''The purpose is to continue to strengthen our strategic partnership, to work through some of the issues that seem to be arising from time to time with the increasing role of NATO in the country,'' Rumsfeld told reporters.
