Pondy-Villipuram train service from tomorrow

Pondicherry, July 11(UNI) Electric train services between Pondicherry and Villipuram will be inaugurated tomorrow.

Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu will inaugurate the service in the presence of Chief Minister N Rangasamy, Education Minister M O H F Shajahan, Parliament members Prof Ramadass and V Narayanasamy and legislator A Anbazhagan.

The electrification of the 37 km track was completed recently at a cost of Rs nine crore, of which 50 per cent was contributed by the Pondicherry administration.

The trial run was already undertaken.
