Police should have humane face: YSR
Hyderabad, Jul 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said police should be humane in the discharge of duty.
He made these comments to 25 CRPF trainees, here on a month-long training, when they called on him at his camp office.Mr Reddy suggested greater involvement in social service activities and better interaction with the common man.
Unless police were people-friendly, they cannot earn their goodwill and confidence. Police morale would improve only if they acted on time and solved peoples' problems impartially.
To a question, he said naxal activities in the state were on the decline. ''We view it not as a law and order problem but mainly as a socio-economic problem,'' he added.
The state government was taking necessary active steps in this direction and planning to develop remote and interior areas in a big way.
