Patil rushing to Mumbai tonight
New Delhi, July 11 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will leave for Mumbai tonight after the government reviewed the situation following the serial blasts in Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
''I am going to Mumbai tonight,'' Mr Patil told reporters at the Prime Minister's residence after the meeting.
Mr Patil said he would personally review the situation in Mumbai.
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and top railway officials will accompany Mr Patil, sources said.
He said the government would take all precautions across the country in the wake of the blasts though it was not issuing a red alert.
''I wouldn't hazard a guess,'' Mr Patil said when asked about the number of people killed in the Mumbai blasts.
He, however, said the government was analysing the information gathered so far to find out who was behind the terrorist attacks.
The Home Minister appealed to the people to remain calm.
