Officials convicted in bribery cases

Hyderabad, Jul 11 (UNI) The Special judge for Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Cases here today convicted P Vijaya Rama Rao, Village Administrative Officer of Kumarapally Village of Warangal district in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs 200.

Mr Rao was arrested by the ACB when he accepted Rs 200 as bribe from the complainant on June 16, 1999.

In another case, the Judge convicted K Yadagiri, Manager of Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board and sentenced him to undergo two years imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs 2000.

The ACB officials arrested Yadagiri for accepting Rs 1,200 as bribe from the complainant on December 12, 2000, an official release said here.
