More time needed for nuclear talks to work -Iran

BRUSSELS, July 11 (Reuters) Major powers should give Iran more time to negotiate an agreement on its nuclear programme, the chief Iranian negotiator today said after inconclusive talks with the European Union.

''We must allow more time for negotiations to work,'' Larijani told a news conference after four hours of talks with EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana.

The West had sought a firm answer today to an offer of economic, technological and political incentives put forward last month if Iran suspended uranium enrichment, and threatened UN Security Council action if it was not forthcoming.
