Mock funeral procession by TDP
Kurnool, July 11 (UNI) In a novel protest, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Kurnool district chief was laid on a bier (a funeral pile) today, and taken out in a procession by TDP activists through the streets of the town, to symbolically term the Congress victory in Anantapur ZP seat as a ''murder of democracy''.
Kurnool former mayor Bangi Anantayya, wrapped in yellow cloth with the photo of TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu painted on it, was laid on a bier.
The activists raised anti-Congress slogans and alleged that the party resored to undemocratic practices in the recently held ZP elections. They termed the victory of Congress in Anantapur ZP as ''murder of democracy''.
Two TDP candidates had voted for Congress here which resulted in Congress victory.
