MCX index closes at 2282.99 up 22.96 pts

Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 2,365.71 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2282.99 up by 22.96 points (1.01 per cent).

The total trades registered were 44,620.

The MCX metal index closed at 2469.67 up by 39.25 points (1.59 per cent), while MCX energy index closed at 2806.37 up by 12.25 points (0.44 per cent) and MCX agri index closed at 1572.93, up by 17.40 (1.11 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 1,418.55 crore, including various MCX gold Rs 993.02 crore and MCX silver Rs 425.53 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 2,55,196 kg. The open interest for gold was 8,486 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 1,91,910 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 376.42 crore with 1,02,88,000 trades, while zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 112.19 crore with 6,885 mt as volumes.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 48.69 crore with open interest of 3,05,400 BBL.

MCX Gold Aug 06 closed at Rs 9,483 up by Rs 104 (1.10 per cent), while Oct closed at Rs 9,622 up by Rs 95 (0.99 per cent) and Dec closed at Rs 9,719 up by Rs 54 (0.56 per cent).

MCX Silver Sept 06 closed at Rs 17,480 up by Rs 302 (1.73 per cent), Dec closed at Rs 17,911 up by Rs 312 (1.74 per cent).
