Mah CM terms Mumbai blasts as ''act of cowardice''

Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh tonight described the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai as an ''act of cowardice'' and appealed to the people to remain calm.

Condemning the blasts carried out by anti-national elements, Mr Deshmukh said it was an ''inhuman attempt to create terror in the city, state and the entire country.'' ''Citizens should not panic and face the tragic situation unitedly,'' he said, urging citizens not to believe rumours and help the government in maintaining law and order.

He said according to his information, the bombs went off in suburban stations or moving trains at Khar, Mahim, Matunga, Jogeshwari, Borivali and Mira Road.
