New Delhi, July 11 (UNI) Larsen and Toubro offered 26 per cent equity share to Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) for the Rs 750 crore Vadodara-Baruch highway project.

''IDFC has shown interest in the project since the begining.

That's why we are keen on giving 26 per cent equity shares to them,'' L&T Head (Project Finance) Shekhar Damle told reporters here today.

On the company's interest in partnerships with others in the project, he said, ''We are not interested in others. We are open to IDFC only.'' L&T has received an order valued at around Rs 750 crore for the six laning of 83.3 km stretch on NH-8 from Vadodara to Bharuch in Gujarat.

The NH-8 between Vadodara and Baruch, forms part of the Golden Quadrilateral and is an important link in the high-density corridor connecting Mumbai and Delhi. The project involves widening of the existing four-lane highway to six lanes, with amenities and support infrastructure. The 15-year concession period includes a construction period of 30 months.

At present, L&T is engaged in four other major road projects in Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh, besides bringing up IT parks in Hyderabad, Vizag, Kolkata, Chennai and Colombo, Mr Damle said.

After losing the bids for Delhi and Mumbai airports, he said the company is also looking for new opportunities in future.
