India 3rd in Asian-Oceanian Korfball meet, makes to World C'ship
New Delhi, Jul 11 (UNI) India finished third in the seventh Asian-Oceanian Korfball Championship which earned the team a berth in the World Championship, slated for next year at Czech Republic.
President of the Korfball Association of India MC Gupta told reporters today that the team finished behind Chinese Taipei and Australia in the just concluded Asian-Oceanian Championship in Hong Kong.
''This was a stellar show by the team and now that we have qualified for the World championship, we are thinking of having preparatory camps either in Holland or Belgium before the showcase tournament,'' Mr Gupta said.
He also informed that India would be bidding to host the Asian Championship in 2008.
