Indebted farmer commits suicide

Kolhapur, Jul 11: A debt-ridden farmer yesterday committed suicide by allegedly consuming poison at village Nave-Chavare of this district.

Vadgaon police have identified the deceased as Manohar Hambirao Patil (45).

Manohar had taken loan, but failed to repay the loan amount.

Frustrated, he allegedly consumed poison at his residence at about 0930 hrs today. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he died around noon, police said.
