Humid conditions prevail in northwest

Chandigarh, July 11 (UNI) Humid and hot weather conditions prevailed in the northwestern region overnight with rains mainly for Nangal in Punjab.

Nangal witnessed 88mm of rain while Amritsar and Patiala remained dry and Ludiana had experienced only .2mm showers. The minimum temperature in Amritsar was 27.4 degrees Celsius and humidity high at 90 per cent. Patiala too was sweating with 90 per cent humid condition though the minimum temperature was slightly less at 26.8.

In Ludhiana humidity was 85 per cent and minimum temperature was 26.2 degree celsius.

The minimum temperature in Chandigarh was recorded at 24.8 degree celsius, with 65 per cent humidity and slight showers. The sky was partially overcast with breezy conditions but rains dodged the city.

Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 25.4 degrees Celsius, with 2.1 mm rainfall and 95 per cent humidity.

In Hisar, the lowest temperature was 26.3 degrees Celsius and 23.1 mm rainfall. Karnal too, was highly humid with only 1 mm of rains.

In Himachal Pradesh, Kalka hills witnessed 18mm rains.

The weatherman have predicted moderate to heavy rain or thundershower at few places in northwest plains during the next 24 hours.

However, heavy rains at isolated places were expected during the next 48 hours.
