Hizbul Mujahideen condemns Srinagar blasts

Srinagar, July 11: Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), a front ranking militant outfit active in Jammu and Kashmir, has strongly condemned the series of grenade blasts in Srinagar today in which seven people were killed and scores others injured.

A caller, who identified himself a spokesman for the HM, told local media persons said the attacks on tourists and Amarnath pilgrims were to defame the ongoing freedm struggle.

These attacks are inhuman, he said, adding no Mujahideen can be involved in such heinous crime.

He said the Mujahideen engaged in the freedom struggle will never attack innocent people, particularly tourists.

The spokesman also contested the police claim that HM commander killed yesterday was responsible for the grenade attack at Kulgam on a rally in which five people were killed and 40 others injured on Saturday.

He said the commander was arrested and later killed in a fake encounter.
