Hyderabad, Jul 11 (UNI)A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Comprising the Chief Justice , Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice G.Sitapati today suspendsed the opearation of a G O through which the Government proposed to allot house sites to various categories of persons including Judicial Officers, IAS Judges and Journalists.

The Bench passed the above order on Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition questioning allotment of house sites to these socially well to do groups.

The Chief Justice observed that the allotment of house sites to the Judges and Judicial Officers would send wrong signals to the society and people may believe that the Judicial Officers having been beneficiaries of the government's benolovence may not be doing justice to people in cases where the government is a party.

The Bench directed the State Government to file its counter affidavits in three weeks explaining whether any Judicial Officer had made any request for allotment of house site on concessional rates.
