HC to hear appeal of five Swadhyayis accused of NRI murder tomorrow

Ahmedabad, July 11 (UNI) Gujarat High Court today posted for tomorrow, the hearing on an appeal filed by five Swadhyay Parivar members arrested in connection with the murder of US-based NRI Pankaj Trivedi, against an earlier metropolitan court order, sending them to ten-day police remand.

The matter was postponed after Justice D N Patel asked the police to a submit the case diary, which they could not.

In their appeal, accused have stated that police had no evidence against them, and it was more a case of media trial, their counsel Yatin Oza said.

Police had arrested them for their alleged involvement in the murder of Pankaj Trivedi near a posh club in the city on June 15.

The accused are - Mansinh Vadhera of Junagadh, Chandrasinh Jadeja of Rajkot, Bhupatsinh Jadeja of Jamnagar and Dakshesh Hasmukhlal Shah and Hitesh Chudasma, both from Ahmedabad.
