'Government guilty of robbing people their sense of security'

New Delhi, July 11 (UNI) Condemning the serial blasts in Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir, BJP President Rajnath Singh today said that these 'diabolically planned attacks' pointed to the extent of penetration into the system by terrorists and their sympathisers.

In a statement, Mr Singh said that the blasts also underlined the total failure of the UPA government to maintain an upper hand over the terrorists. ''Their handling of the terrorist menace have created an environment where the terrorists feel that they could get away with their dastardly actions with impunity. They targeted Sankat Mochan temple at Varanasi and wanted to attack RSS headquarters at Nagpur to bring the country on its knees,'' he noted.

The repeal of terrorist specific laws like POTA by the UPA government had emboldened the terrorists while the countries across the globe were toughening their anti-terror laws. ''This government is guilty of robbing the people their sense of security,'' Mr Singh asserted.
