Forty kg Charas seized from two trucks
Jammu, July 11 (UNI) Police have seized 40 kg of Charas from two trucks at Hira Nagar on Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police officials told UNI that the contraband, packed in two packets of two kg each, was being smuggled to Delhi from Srinagar in truck numbers HR-55-4574 and JK-13-0399.
On a tip off police stopped the trucks at a 'Naka' and recovered the contraband, hidden in tool boxes. The drivers of the trucks -- Nazir Ahmed and Manzoor Ahmed, residents of Anantnag and Pulwama respectively, have been taken into custody and being interrogated to crack the smuggling network.
A case under NDPS has been registered against the drivers.
