Crackers stored in bags seized from lorry shed
Chennai, July 11 (UNI) Police seized 86 bags of unlicensed festive crackers (onion bombs) from a lorry shed at Kothavalchavadi in the city.
The lorry driver Ravi (23) and cleaner Ramu (18) were arrested from the shed where the explosives were seized last night, police said.
After hearing a loud noise following an onion bomb, which accidently exploded during unloading at the lorry shed, a police party rushed to the spot and effected the seizure.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that the explosives were smuggled out from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, police added.
