Cong minority programme harmful: BJP

Jaipur, July 11 (UNI) National president of BJP's Minority Cell Tanvir Haidar Usmani said here today that the UPA government's 15-point programme for the welfare of minorities will prove to be ''harmful'' for them and the country's unity.

On a visit here to oversee the preparations for the three-day national working committee of BJP's minority cell, Mr Usamani told reporters that the programme includes factors which can prove harmful for the unity of the country apart from providing five percent reservation for Muslims.

He said the Congress has always considered the Muslims as vote banks while BJP has regarded them as ''respectful citizens.'' Refusing to divulge the proposed agenda of the minorities working committe meeting, he, however, said the process of associationg Muslims with BJP will be further strengthened.

The working committee meeting will begin here on July 28.
